sakurazukamori

The Sakurazukamori are known as the assassin's of the Cherry Blossom tree, otherwise known as Sakura (hence their name). Their name means cherry blossom mound, or as we would call it, cherry blossom grave. The Sakurazukamori are an ancient clan of onmyouji that control Japan from the shadows, using spells and murder to kill off their prey. There is only one Sakurazukamori at a time, and the next one suceeds by killing the previous one. Their mark and symbol is that of an inverted pentagram, which identifies with them as closely as the Sakura tree.

The Sakurazukamori are raised to be emotionless, to feel nothing. It's what makes them such capable killers, after all. They feel no joy, the value nothing as living or dying, and their sole purpose is to murder. To them, killing a person is no different than breaking a glass, that is how meaningless human life is.

The mark of the Sakurazukamori is the inverted pentagram, which I believe is also called the Pentacle. In Catholicism, the inverted pentagram is proof of Satanism, and the existence of evil. It's counterpart, the Pentagram, represents and works upon the Tree of Life, so the Inverted Pentagram represents and works upon the Tree of Death. The Inverted Pentagram is a symbolic representation of Matter, those forces opposed to the Will of God, over Spirit (God), which thus places Sprit in a subservient role to Matter. Evil over good, essentially.
